Each claim is unique with many factors determining how long it will take until settlement is reached. Some of these factors include seriousness of injury, complexity of the case and degree of fault. The duration of each claim depends on its unique circumstances.

Most frequently a personal injury claim is not settled until a person’s injuries have stabilized and the long-term impacts of those injuries on a person’s employment and life are accurately understood and assessed.

For example: most claims require a doctor’s prognosis before they can be settled—a doctor’s prognosis is pivotal. However, most doctors are hesitant to provide a prognosis for a year or more as they want to be confident that symptoms from an injury have stabilized. Injury symptoms can come and go, and may vary in terms of severity or even return when you think they have resolved.

As a client of Spraggs & Co. you can receive access to quality advice and experience that will help you to determine the approximate duration of your claim. But remember: your situation and circumstances are unique.
