Jamie Paez is a graduate of the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law. Following his graduation in 1990, he was a Judicial Law Clerk with the Supreme Court of British Columbia and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1991. As a trial and appellate counsel, he has appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia and before a number of federal administrative tribunals, such as the Commercial Appeals Commission, the Human Rights Tribunal, the Labour Relations Board, and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. He has acted as counsel for regulatory tribunals of self-governing professions; major universities and technical institutes; professional colleges, associations and societies; governments; and many corporate organizations. He has also acted as a Federal Crown Counsel, prosecuting matters as an agent of the Department of Justice Canada.
He has been involved in a variety of major and complex litigation matters. In addition to representing many individual clients, he has acted as counsel on behalf of provincial government bodies, major universities, and many corporations from Canada, U.S.A., Europe and Latin America.
